About the course

You are a speech therapist specialized in voice or a vocologist. You are wondering how to integrate EBP into your daily practice. Then this SPOC is for you! It offers you an illustration of the EBP approach applied to patients suffering from voice disorders, knowing that the treatment technique chosen among others is the use of semi-occluded vocal tract exercises.

Vous êtes logopède spécialisé en voix ou vocologiste. Vous vous interrogez sur l’intégration de l’EBP dans votre pratique quotidienne. Ce SPOC est fait pour vous ! Il vous propose une illustration concrète de la démarche EBP appliquée à des patients souffrant de troubles de la voix, sachant que la technique de prise en soins repose ici sur l’utilisation d’exercices de constriction du tractus vocal. Ce cours est entièrement dispensé en anglais.

Course format

This SPOC consists of 6 chapters, all of which can be accessed as soon as the course is launched. Each chapter includes between 1 and 4 videos.

Course team

Dominique Morsomme

is a professor in the Faculty of Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy, and Educational Sciences at the University of Liège, Belgium. She heads the Voice Unit in the Department of Speech and Language Therapy. As a vocologist, she also works at the Hospital of Liège with Professor C. Finck, ENT specialist. Her clinical and research activities focus on voice disorders evaluation, voice harmonization, and evidence-based practice in voice. Since 2021, she manages the Research Unit for a life-Course perspective on Health and Education – RUCHE with Aurélie Wagener, Doctor in health psychology and Alexandre Mouton, Doctor in motor sciences.

Nancy Durieux

is an Associate Professor at the University of Liège - Faculty of Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy and Educational Sciences. She is interested in the teaching and implementation of EBP (more specifically, aspects related to evidence from scientific research), as well as in the development of evidence syntheses. Finally, Nancy is a member of RUCHE - ULiège, JBI Belgium, CEBAM, the Evikey Advisory Board and the Ebpracticenet Multidisciplinary Council.
